Office for Witness Protection
SALARY: R468 459 per annum (Level 09), excluding benefits
CENTRE: Mpumalanga (Witbank)
REQUIREMENTS:
- An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) or a three-year Diploma (NQF Level 6). A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience, including at least three (3) years’ supervisory experience in an administrative environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the Public Service Act, related regulations and their application.
- Sound knowledge of legislation governing public service administration, including the Public Service Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, Public Finance Management Act, Supply Chain Management Framework and National Treasury Practice Notes.
- Proven experience in asset, fleet and facilities management, internal control and risk management, as well as leasing of properties and lease contract management.
- Knowledge of the Witness Protection Act, the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, the Bill of Rights, the National Crime Prevention Strategy, the Victims’ Charter, Batho Pele Principles and the MISS document.
- Demonstrable ability to work independently with professionalism, accountability and credibility.
- Strong administrative, planning, organisational, decision-making and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and provide innovative, proactive and solution-oriented approaches.
- Computer literacy and performance management skills are essential.
- The successful candidate must be reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.
DUTIES:
- Manage office and operational assets, fleet and facilities.
- Oversee procurement services and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Manage office administration and document management processes.
- Compile and implement Asset Management and Procurement Plans.
- Assist with monitoring expenditure and ensure accurate inputs into the regional budget.
- Perform physical bank withdrawals and deposits when required, as well as electronic banking transactions.
- Assist with managing the cash book and petty cash.
- Conduct performance management for staff reporting to the position.
- Ensure work is performed under pressure while adhering to prescribed timelines.
