REQUIREMENTS:
-
Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
-
An appropriate recognised National Diploma or Degree in Psychology or BA Social Work (majoring in Psychology) or a relevant qualification at NQF Level 6/7.
-
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in an education, teaching and learning environment or a related field, of which at least three (3) years must be at a supervisory level.

Computer literacy.
-
Valid driver’s licence.

DUTIES:
-
Oversee the administration of the Student Support Services (SSS) unit.
-
Develop the annual SSS operational plan, allocate tasks to staff, and monitor progress against approved targets.

Develop, review and implement SSS policies, processes, procedures and job profiles.
-
Ensure the compilation and maintenance of learner progress reports, statements, results and management of student enquiries.
-
Track the behaviour and academic performance of students participating in internal and external counselling programmes.
-
Manage student counselling services across the college, including implementation of counselling and guidance policies, procedures and best practices.
-
Coordinate and monitor the provision of counselling services across the college.
-
Design and implement life-skills programmes as proactive counselling interventions.
-
Ensure counselling services comply with required standards and ethical codes of conduct.
-
Ensure individual counselling and psycho-social intervention programmes are provided where necessary.
