SALARY: R397 116 per annum

REQUIREMENTS:
-
A minimum three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) in a built environment discipline; OR
-
N3 qualification with a passed relevant trade test, plus 3–5 years’ technical experience in the built environment, building management, or maintenance.

Extensive knowledge of the Building Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

A valid Code EB or C1 driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Registration with a professional body in the built environment will be an added advantage.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
-
Computer literacy.

Strong interpersonal, management, planning, budgeting, and estimating skills.

Knowledge and understanding of Government procurement systems and Project Management.

Problem-solving ability and willingness to adapt work schedules in accordance with professional requirements.
DUTIES:
-
Manage day-to-day building maintenance project activities to ensure effective execution of maintenance projects (term contracts) in terms of cost, quality, and time on existing State buildings.

Prepare, manage, monitor, and control project cost estimates and variations in line with the allocated maintenance budget.

Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with departmental specifications and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Assist with the development of building programmes and condition surveys, and report regularly to management on progress.

Manage budgets related to maintenance projects.
-
Render a coordinated and professional maintenance and building management service to DPWI clients at all levels.
