DEPUTY DIRECTOR: RESEARCH AND EVALUATION COORDINATION

Salary: R896 436 per annum (Level 11)

Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate and a three-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Development Studies, or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6 or 7, as recognised by SAQA.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in policy research, evaluation, or within the government or municipal sector, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to undertake extensive travel.

Additional Requirements (Advantageous):

  • Familiarity with data analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, or Power BI.

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the implementation of policy analysis and policy development projects.

  • Overseeing the process of conducting policy research using a range of analytical methods and techniques.

  • Managing the development and refinement of memoranda, issue papers, policy papers, and draft legislation.

  • Overseeing the preparation of written reports, presentations, and short study briefs for non-research audiences.

  • Conducting research as outlined in the Departmental Annual Performance Plan.
