SALARY: R480 267 per annum (all-inclusive package in accordance with OSD rules)
CENTRE: Cape Town Regional Office (Oudtshoorn)
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Appropriate Trade Test Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

A minimum of ten (10) years’ post-qualification experience as an Artisan or Artisan Foreman.
-
Valid driver’s licence.
-
Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and relevant regulations.
-
Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
-
Computer literacy is essential.
DUTIES:
-
Compile material quantities per project.
-
Maintain and repair government buildings, including new building works.
-
Work overtime when required.
-
Compile progress reports for projects.
-
Monitor, train, and mentor artisans, assistants, and learners.
-
Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop.
-
Manage equipment, tools, and machinery in compliance with the OHS Act (Act 85 of 1993).
-
Travel extensively as part of the job.
-
Perform inspections and maintenance, including climbing ladders where required.

Demonstrate knowledge of workshop equipment and relevant trades.
