Nature of Appointment: Permanent
Purpose of the Post:
To manage, drive, and monitor the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive digital infrastructure and connectivity map for South Africa.
Salary:
R1 266 714 per annum (Level 13).
The all-inclusive remuneration package consists of a basic salary, the State’s contribution to the Government Pension Fund, a medical fund, and a flexible portion in accordance with applicable rules.

Requirements:

An appropriate NQF Level 7 qualification, as recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Information Technology, Geography, Cartography, Surveying, Environmental Studies, or a related field.

Five (5) years’ experience at a middle to senior management level in digital infrastructure development, geographic information systems, or telecommunications, with a focus on data mapping and analysis.

Duties:
The successful candidate will:

Develop, manage, and continuously enhance a comprehensive GIS platform to map and monitor digital infrastructure across South Africa, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and accessibility.

Manage the collection, capturing, and integration of data from multiple formats and sources.

Oversee the creation, validation, and maintenance of spatial data topology and attributes to ensure data reliability and usability.
